Bill Mason
Senior Pastor
Chattanooga has been my home for my entire life. I probably know your Mom and Dad, grandparents or aunt and uncle.
Morris Hill is the second church I have served as pastor in 26 years of ministry. I have been here for 15 years. One of my core values is that longevity at a church is important for a pastor.
I married my high school sweetheart, Beth Walker Mason. We both graduated from Chattanooga Central and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
God has blessed us with four wonderful children and thirteen foster children in 34 years of marriage.
My preaching style is simple so that everyone can understand. I enjoy verse-by-verse preaching. God’s Word reveals Himself to us, so I don’t want to leave something out.
The call from God to be a pastor was very clear in my life. It has sustained me when times in ministry have been difficult.
My desire is to finish well in the ministry; to bring honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rick Markum
Pastor of Worship & Senior Adults
My main objective is to invest in the musical talents of the congregation for the glory of God. It is my desire to encourage the church to proclaim the Good News of Hope in Christ through the ministry of music.
I have been at Morris Hill Baptist since 1996. I began serving in the ministry in 1979 while still in high school in Chattanooga. Previous full-time churches include First Baptist Church of Whitwell, TN and First Baptist Church of Dayton, TN.
My other responsibilities include Senior Adult Ministry, Counseling Ministry, and Health and Wellness Ministry.
I received my Doctorate of Ministry from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, GA
James Click
Associate Pastor & Education
I am originally from Scottsboro, AL. Before being called into vocational ministry, I worked for 8 years as a Lineman with the Scottsboro Electric Power Board.
After being called, my family and I moved to Wake Forest, NC where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Southeastern College at Wake Forest. I then attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where I acquired a Master of Divinity with Pastoral Ministry and Biblical Languages with Preaching.
My family and I now reside in Chattanooga, TN. I am currently serving as the Associate Pastor and my other responsibilities include Education and Outreach. I have been on staff since October of 2008. Kristy, my wife, and I have been married since 1993 and have one daughter, Briana. My desire is to glorify and advance the Kingdom of God by proclaiming the Word of God, and equipping the Body of Christ to work side by side for the faith of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Phil 1:27)
Mike Winningham
Pastor of Students & Recreation
I was born and raised in the great city of Chattanooga. There has never been another place I have wanted to call home. Every day that God gives me to minister to students in this area is a blessing.
Before answering the call into the ministry I worked for 19 years at Precision Marine as a technician. Precision Marine is my dad’s business that he founded in 1983. If within the last 19 years you have owned a boat there is a good possibility my dad or I have worked on it.
In 1994 I met Becky Summers, and in 1996 I was blessed to have her become my wife. God has blessed us with two great kids. Rozlyn age 9 and Preslee age 6.
I am currently serving as the youth pastor at Morris Hill Baptist, and have been on staff since November 2008. The responsibility to train and equip students for their walk with God is awesome, and I am thankful and humbled by the opportunity.
